Instrument Development Trends Among IVD & Life Science Manufacturers

Invetech recently partnered with the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) to distribute a blinded survey exploring development methodology trends among IVD and life science instrument manufacturers. 

The objective: investigate the degree to which agile methodologies have been incorporated beyond software teams (as recent industry discussions have indicated).

The results revealed that agile is making inroads with 40% of respondents using agile to some extent to address development challenges, such as:

  • Slipping project timelines
  • Design input too late in the process
  • Unexpected late stage failures
